What a busy day!!!

What an exciting day! It was so nice and beautiful out we decided to go have a picnic. This was Annabelle's first picnic. We stopped at Qdoba and got some food cause there is no way we could agree on what kind on sandwich's to make. She was very good while we ate our lunch and she sat there the whole time playing between us. We then put her in the grass and she stood there for quite a while. After she fell down, she wouldn't get on her knees but kept her butt in the air!!! I then walked around the trail with Annabelle while Russ rode around on his bike. We then stopped at the playground and I put her on the swings. After that Russ took her to the swinging bars but that wasn't very successful. We then left after about 2 hours since it was well into the 80's and sunny!

Well Annabelle had her first real boo boo and trip to the Emergency Room! Annabelle has been standing up holding onto things for quite a while and always did that in the bathtub while holding onto the edge. Low and behold, she decided to stand while giving her bath. She would always slip back down to the water with no problem. Not this time, she let go, turned around and fell face first into the tub. Unfortunately I had not grabbed her time to sit her back down like I always do when she stands in the tub. So I scooped her out and called for Russ. He then noticed her eye was bleeding pretty bad. I got her dressed and we rushed to the E.R. at around 9:45pm. They took her blood pressure, checked her oxygen and assessed her. She was then admitted to be seen by a doctor. By this time the crying had stopped and she was all smiles. That didn't last long when it was time to close the wound on her eyelid. There were 4 nurses, 1 doctor, and Russ and I holding her down while the doctor placed steiristrips on her wound. The wound was about 3/4 inch long. It was very heartbreaking standing there helpless holding her down with tears and tears flowing down her face. After getting all the tiny strips on, they placed a Peyton Manning Children's Hospital bandaid on top. She was back to smiles after they were done. She then got a brand new blanket from one of the nurses and we left. We didn't get home until around midnight and she luckily went right to sleep. It's been almost 2 days now since the accident and she hasn't messed with the bandaid. We had a sock on her right hand the first day to keep her from prying the bandaid off but luckily we got to take it off her soon. The bandaid is still on and she's still not allowed to have a bath. They said it's going to be very tender for about a month before it's fully healed! Poor girl, she is definately handling it very well!!!
